There many, many causes of neuropathy. The most common neuropathies are caused by diabetes, chemotherapy, lumbar disc disease, heavy metal poisoning, and environmental toxins. While infrared light therapy is by far the most effective and best tolerated treatment, there are many nutritional factors that support healing the nerves involved in neuropathy that should be used in combination with light therapy. Conventional treatment with multiple drugs that include anti-seizure medications, antidepressants, and narcotics should be reserved only for when infrared light therapy has failed.

Diabetic Neuropathy

After 10 years 50% of diabetics will have diabetic neuropathy. It is manifested by numbness, loss of balance, and in 25% severe pain. About 15% will develop ulcers that lead to amputations. Mainstream medicine relies on drugs to manage pain, but has nothing for the numbness or loss of awareness of where the feet are. There has been a major breakthrough in treatment that involves the use of near infrared light therapy. This is discussed and thermal images are presented.
