I have had chronic back pain for 9 years now. I have had numerous epidurals, taken lots of medication, tried accupucture, accupressure and all of this to avoid surgery. I have now given in to the idea of getting surgery as I just can't live with this any longer, that is if you have another option I have not yet tried?

If you have not tried infrared light therapy or pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF), they are worth considering. We've had very good results in situations like yours.
