Addressing stress through prayer and meditation shift us to something greater than ourself. This opens us to spiritual guidance and wisdom. Nature does the healing. Humility awakens the soul. Listening and caring are powerful tools. Healing lies within each of us. Healers don't heal, they support the process.

Religiousity has been associated with better health, but the data is controversial. Studies on prayer are also conflicting. Praying certainly does not make things worse! When the scientific world looks at issues it does not understand it simply throws them out. This is not scientific!

Having faith increases quality of life and longevity by 2-3 years in some studies. Studies on intercessory prayer also suggest benefit, but others show the opposite. Whatever the case may be, it also makes sense that we take as much responsibility for our own health as we can. Imagery has a profound effect on our biochemistry and physiology.
