10% of Americans are addicted to drugs, much of this is from medications prescribed by physicians. Typical programs for rehabilitation are unsuccessful. Many addiction programs exaggerate their success. In general only about 15% of people in these programs get better. Usually there is a problem that is urgent that leads to getting into a program. Underlying problems must be addressed.

Fish oil can lower blood pressure a little in overweight teens. Yet lifestyle remains the most important treatment for hypertension. Hospitals have a financial incentive to not reduce complications because they are paid per each treatment and each lab or other test according to an article published in the April issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
