HRT has been exposed as a dangerous treatment through the Women's Health Initiative Study. HRT is associated with an increased incidence of breast cancer, heart attacks, strokes, and thromboses. Bioidentical hormones are defined. Prior to menopause there is not a declining level of estrogen; there is a declining level of progesterone. There is estrogen dominance; and that leads to symptoms. Adrenal and thyroid balance are important to look at.
