Appreciation of disciplines other than mainstream medicine broadens the scope of care and deepens the options. Healing Circles are a classic example of integrative health care. Being present requires letting go. For health care practitioners, letting go of their own training tools opens doors for new possibilities from CAM therapies. There is a turf war between mainstream oncologists and CAM doctors that leads to an adversarial and competitive stance that is not in the patient's best interest.
