Both bullies and their victims are more likely to live with violence at home and are associated with increase likelihood of suicide, substance abuse, and poor academic achievement. Dr. Len and Nurse Vicki review the importance of essential fatty acids for brain function and encourage eating fish to correct the problem. An excellent article in the November 2013 issue of More Magazine reported that 25% of all women are victims of domestic violence. Two million women are injured annually by domestic violence, 25% require medical care, and 1300 die! Sixty percent of those going to emergency rooms are strangled and one in three lost consciousness.

The PTA knows that getting junk food out of schools is necessary and they are taking action. High sugar foods are prevalent in school meals and vending machines. Less violence and better grades follow a healthy diet.

Progress is one step at a time and setting the example is the way for social transformation. Gandhi and Ayurveda offer the historical example of a philosopohy that embraces community and peace developed from non-violence.

Gandhi was the first social revolutionary that brought human values to another higher level. Non-violence is nothing new; the vedic tradition is non-violent. Gandhi in action must be brought forward as our basic premise of our community.
