Dear Friends,
Please vote YES on Proposition 37. We want our food labeled if it contains GMO’s.
Monsanto, DuPont, and their supporters have pulled out all the stops in their last ditch efforts to confuse, mislead, and just about brainwash California voters.
They've raised $40 million so far, and their efforts,...

There is an epidemic of vitamin D deficiency that is responsible for a huge epidemic of cancer, osteoporosis, hypertension, diabetes, heart attacks, and immune deficiency disorders. Dr. Prendergast reviews the role of vitamin D in the body and how it affects our health. This is a fantastic review of vitamin D.

There is an epidemic of vitamin D deficiency. There are indications for cancer prevention, hypertension, weight loss, osteoporosis, heart attacks and more. Doses are 50,000 IU per day for two weeks and then once a week.

There is an epidemic of vitamin D deficiency because we don't get sufficient sun or supplementation. Just 1300 units of vitamin D would lower the risk of all cancers by 50%. Toxicity is very low. A combination of Diovan, megadoses of vitamin D and l-arginine restores elasticity of arterial walls.

A study published in March of 2011 showed that low levels of vitamin D failed to inhibit the inflammatory cascade and that normal levels did. Levels of inflmamatory cytokines, interlukin 6 and TNF-alpha, correlated with low levels of vitamin D. The vitamin D receptor binds to DNA directly and activates a gene, MKP-1, which quiets the inflammatory response.
It...

The elderly don't get enough sunlight to make adequate vitamin D. There are many diseases that are related to deficient levels such as immune disorders, osteoporosis, diabetes, heart attacks, cancers, hypertension, and even more. Sunscreen propaganda is one of the causes.

Sunlight is essential for life. UVB ray is what makes vitamin D. At this latitude we don't get much vitamin D, especially in the winter time. We cannot make vitamin D without cholesterol. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with 27 different cancers including melanoma!

Dr. Grant explains the various forms of UV light and how they relate to cancer risk. UVA light penetrates deeply but most sunscreens don't block it and it is what causes melanoma; this actually increases the risk for melanoma! If you shadow is shorter than you are, UVB is present and will make it possible to make vitamin D. Vitamin D deficiency is linked...

Linus Pauling found a seven-fold increase in longevity with the use of vitamin C. Animals have the ability to make their own vitamin C, whereas humans do not have the chemistry necessary perform the chemical reactions. Some research has shown that Vitamin C administered by IV can kill cancer cells. Giving IV Vitamin C can be dangerous and so...

The world's foremost expert in vitamin C shares some of his secrets. The story on dosage and gut tolerance is related to how sick we are. Massive doses reverse most viral diseases, including the flu. Bowel tolerance is described. The dosage used determines the effects on the body. It also decreases the production of antibodies as it increases cellular immunity.

According to research at UCSF in May of 2012, smoking during pregnancy adversely affects fetal lung development, but it can be prevented by vitamin C during the last trimester. A study on 159 smoking pregnant women revealed that just 500 mg/d of vitamin C before 22 weeks of gestation would raise their low vitamin C levels to normal and also improve...

Intravenous vitamin C for treatment of cancer was pioneered by Linus Pauling in the early 1970s and now, finally, there is mainstream literature having a second look at IV vitamin C in people with lymphomas. IV vitamin C is converted in to hydrogen peroxide by cancer cells and it kills them.

There are three types of UV light, A, B, and C; they are reviewed. DNA damage from UV light is a concern and the dose makes the difference. UVA is the tanning ray and is responsible for tanning the skin; it does not burn. UVB and C penetrate deeper and can be a problem if we burn. We need UVB to make vitamin D. UVC light is filtered by the ozone layer and protects...

According to the Institute of Medicine's publication in JAMA in July of 2013, the US is falling behind most industrialized countries in nearly every measure of health care even though it is generally improving in most areas including an increase in longevity by three years.
This has little to do with how much we spend on health care because...

When you don't know the outcome of a medical test, the uncertainty of not knowing can be more stressful and anxiety provoking than the worst possible outcome. Our minds tend to worry and we need to learn to "worry well." Chronic stress suppresses immunity and sets the stage for further inflammation and progression of whatever disease...

As we get older, especially men who are frail, testosterone replacement is a consideration to improve muscle strength and balance. Exercise, of course, is the best way to increase muscle strength and balance because it naturally increases growth hormone and testosterone levels. Overdoing testosterone levels can be a problem with aggressive behavior...

While it is illegal to treat cancer in California using CAM approaches, it is possible to support wellness, especially of the immune system. There are often many genetic defects that lead to cancer growth. If you target just one of them, adaptation is possible. However, by using low dose therapies in combination might do much to target many of them....

We may need a new kind of research that relates to outcome studies to prove the value of TCM and other disciplines such as homeopathy, Ayurveda, and naturopathy. Promoting wellness vs fighting disease is discussed.

Iron storage disease, or hemochromatosis, affects 10-15% of the population, and perhaps even more if you know how to diagnose it. Iron overload increases free radical damage via the Fenton reaction. Hepcidin is a hormone that regulates iron levels by increasing the absorption of iron. The is new research showing that at least experimentally it is possible...

In this epidemic of obesity, we have few solutions that make sense. Weight loss reduces inflammation and improves diabetes, hypertension, cancer risk, heart disease, etc. The hypothalamus is the major control system of weight control. Chemicals, stress, eating patterns, traumas, electromagnetic fields, etc have a lot to do with dysfunctional hormone levels regulated...
